Quick work trip to Omaha. Readers of my blog know my fondness for the midwest and Omaha did not disappoint.
Reason #1: $6.00 Martinis. Enough said.
Reason #2: Great food. I had 3 meals and each was really good.
My favorite was M's Pub in the Old Market. I had trouble picking an item from the menu because everything looked so good. I went with a Thai Chicken Lavosh and was not disappointed.
The Old Market is an area of downtown Omaha filled with shops, art galleries, bars and restaurants.
The other good meal was at Gorat's; the place famous for being Warren Buffett's favorite restaurant. As soon as they figured out I was from out-of-town (spoiler alert: it didn't take long), they made me take a picture with the Warren Buffett cut-out.
It was at Gorat's that I was introduced to Dorothy Lynch salad dressing. A dressing famous only in Nebraska.
Reason #3: It is 10 minutes by car from the airport to downtown Omaha.
Reason #4: This sign on this giant rooster
I wish I had more time to explore the sights in Omaha. There's quite a bit of history there. So many places to see and so little time.
