After 24 hours of travel connecting through London, I have safely arrived in Johannesburg. The travel was the best kind: uneventful. The worst part was the construction at JFK.
I reunited with Angela and Trevor at our hotel in Johannesburg. We are staying at The City Lodge at the airport which Trevor accurately described as "serviceable." I am not even going to bore you with pictures. The only other time I was at this hotel was when my flight out of Johannesburg was canceled and this is where they put us for the night. It is walking distance to the airport so it does get some points for convenience.
We met up with our friend Ceri for a long walk and a wonderful dinner at 1920.
Tomorrow is another travel day - a commercial flight into Namibia followed by a short flight to our first lodge.
