I finally made it to Bhutan. This is really far from home. Before I discuss Bhutan, let me say a few words about Delhi. It's hot, humid, polluted, crowded, and noisy. It was 110 outside at 10 pm last night. I really don't know how people live there. I am glad I was only there for 12 hours.
My flight to Bhutan was delayed so I did not get here until 5 pm. So far, it is delightful. The people are very warm, the weather is comfortable.
On the flight in, Mt Everest was obscured by clouds but this is Mt Kangchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world.
Flying into Paro is quite unique because you fly through a mountain pass. It's very unusual to be flying and to see trees on both sides of the plane.
I am staying at the Postcard @ Dewa. It is a beautiful hotel out here in the middle of nowhere.
I am cutting the trip short because 10 days by myself is just too long. I had planned to make 4 different stops in Bhutan but I have removed the third stop.
Tomorrow is a day of hiking.
